CFIG Scholarship

The National Scholarship Program was established to help defray the cost of post-secondary education for C.F.I.G. members’ families, staff and their children. CFIG has sent out the materials for the 200 National Scholarship Program. We at Freson Market Ltd. would like to encourage all team members who are students, to apply for this scholarship. The national award is $8,000, five first place scholarships of $3,250 will be awarded and five second place scholarships of $1500 will be awarded from the following regions: Atlantic Canada, Ontario/Quebec, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Alberta/Northwest Territories/Nunavut and British Columbia/Yukon.

To qualify, applicants must be sponsored by an Independent Grocery Store and must be working towards a degree or certificate in a full-time post-secondary program of at least two years in: General Arts& Sciences, Business Advertising, Marketing, Category Management, Accounting/Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Public Relations, Hospitality, Food & Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Customer
Service, Pharmacy.



Please include with your application :
* Personal statement explaining “What are the two issues most affecting the grocery/food industry and how would you, in your career, address these issues?”
* A list of academic achievements, awards, extracurricular activities.
* An official grade transcript of your last year completed.
* In order to be considered for a scholarship, all material must be included with your
application by May 31, 2005.
