Shrimp Cocktail
1 appetizer: 101 Calories; 0.8 g Total Fat (0.1 g Mono, 0.2 g Poly, 0.2 g Sat); 43 mg Cholesterol; 17 g Carbohydrate; 4 g Fibre; 8 g Protein; 929 mg Sodium







Shredded iceberg lettuce 1 1/2 cups 375 mL
Can of medium shrimp, rinsed and drained 4 oz. 113 g
     
Peeled and diced cooking apple
(such as McIntosh)
1/2 cup 125 mL
Finely chopped celery 1/4 cup 60 mL
Chili sauce 3/4 cup 175 mL
Lemon juice 2 tsp. 10 mL
Worcestershire sauce 1/4 – 1 tsp. 1 – 5 mL
Onion powder 1/2 tsp. 2 mL
Salt 1/4 tsp. 1 mL


Line sherbet glasses with lettuce. Divide shrimp over lettuce, saving a few for garnish if desired.

Combine remaining 7 ingredients in small bowl. Spoon sauce over shrimp. Makes 4 to 5 appetizers.

Time Saver: Use a frozen shrimp ring, thawed, for quick assembly and uniform-sized shrimp.

Variation: Omit apple. Double the amount of celery.
