What is the Freson Bros. Alberta Food Fair?
The Freson Bros. Alberta Food Fair is an event hosted by Freson Bros. in partnership with the Alberta Food Processors Association, providing opportunities to Alberta producers to share their products and stories. This event provides Alberta producers with an opportunity to connect directly with Freson Bros. decision makers who are interested in pioneering new and innovative local products in their stores across the province.
Over 65% of Alberta processors that attended the Freson Bros. Alberta Food Fairs in 2023 and 2024 became Freson Bros. vendor partners.
For just $225, each attending company gets a 10-foot booth and a 6-foot table to showcase their products. This is a great opportunity to connect with key decision-makers and potentially become a Freson Bros. vendor partner. Please note, power is only available to select booths.
Eligibility to Participate
To participate in the Freson Bros. Alberta Food Fair, companies must be part of the AFPA/Made in Alberta ecosystem. Eligible companies must meet one of the following criteria:
• Be a Showcase Member of Made in Alberta, or
• Be a current AFPA Member
Made in Alberta – Showcase Eligibility: Made in Alberta Showcase companies must have their last substantial transformation occur in Alberta. Example: Coffee beans grown outside of Alberta but roasted in Alberta qualify as a local product and are eligible for Showcase status.
2023 & 2024 Freson Bros. Food Fair Attendee Testimonials
Vendor Spotlight: Localite Foods
From the very outset, when we secured our table at the Freson Bros. Food Fair, the experience set a high bar. The team’s unwavering attention to detail and infectious enthusiasm immediately stood out, making us feel valued and excited. Upon arriving, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality that permeated the entire venue. The event itself was a masterclass in organization. Every aspect, from vendor setups to interactive sessions, was thoughtfully curated and executed without a hitch. It was clear that Freson Bros. prioritizes excellence in fostering connections within the food industry.
Post-event, navigating the application process was straightforward and efficient. We were thrilled when Freson Bros. enthusiastically accepted our brand, Localite, into their portfolio. Since then, they’ve placed regular, substantial orders, effectively moving impressive volumes of our artisanal products to eager markets. This success has led us to partner directly with Pratt’s Food Services, one of their distribution partners, streamlining logistics and ensuring timely deliveries. The integration has been remarkably seamless, with minimal disruptions and maximum efficiency, allowing us to focus on innovation rather than operations.
Looking ahead, we’re genuinely excited about expanding our collaboration. Whether through joint marketing initiatives, new product launches, or exclusive events, we see tremendous potential for growth. Building this meaningful relationship with the Freson Bros. team has not only boosted our business but also aligned us with partners who share our passion for quality and community. We’re committed to nurturing this partnership for years to come, confident it will yield even greater successes. – Benjamin Toews, President
Vendor Spotlight: Twisted Fork
Twisted Fork Preserves, a small-batch preserve company, has been honoured to be part of Freson Bros., a locally owned, Alberta-based grocery store, since 2023. From the very beginning, we have felt fully supported. It started with a smooth and welcoming onboarding process and continuing with consistent, hands-on support from every Freson Bros. location.
Working with the management team, especially Jay and Laura, has been an absolute pleasure. Their knowledge, experience, and genuine willingness to help set Freson Bros. apart. They are always approachable and available, and their guidance provides invaluable clarity and confidence. Having a team you can reach out to for direction, insight, and reassurance, knowing they truly want you to succeed, is priceless for a small local business.
Freson Bros. doesn’t just say they’re about family, they live it. They create an environment where partners feel valued, respected, and included. As a small producer, being treated as part of the Freson Bros. family has meant everything to us.
We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and look forward to continuing to grow, collaborate, and build our future together with Freson Bros.
