Freson Bros. is honoured to partner with University Hospital Foundation as the presenting sponsor of Heart Month.
We believe that looking out for our communities is one of the most important things we do, and this February, we invite you to join us in that mission. Together, we can support the life-saving work of the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and help the hearts of our families, friends and neighbours stay healthy for years to come.
From February 1 to 28, you can help support heart health by sharing a “Wish for the Heart” at the till. For just $1 you’ll receive a heart sticker to make your mark. Whether you use it to write a message of hope, honour the memory of a loved one, or celebrate a heart hero in your life, your contribution matters. Every wish shared is a small step toward a healthier future for all Albertans.

Heart Healthy Simple Swaps
We believe in Really Great Food, and this February, we’re focusing on heart healthy food for you and your family. One of the best ways to look after your heart is by building small, everyday habits that don’t sacrifice the flavours you love.
Whether you are swapping out salt for fresh herbs or choosing a heart-healthy whole grain, these small changes can help care for our hearts while still enjoying the food we all love. Look for these tips all month long to find easy ways to bring heart-healthy choices to your kitchen.

Fresh Herbs & Spices instead of Salt
Reduces sodium intake to help manage blood pressure without losing flavour.

Whole Grain instead of White Bread
Adds fibre which helps lower “bad” LDL cholesterol levels.

Greek Yogurt instead of Sour Cream
Cuts out saturated fat and adds a boost of protein and probiotics.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead of Butter
Replaces saturated fats with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.

Steel Cut Oats instead of Sugary Cereal
Provides slow-release energy and soluble fibre to clear arteries.

Raw Nuts instead of Croutons
Replaces processed carbs with Omega-3 fatty acids and healthy crunches.

Sparkling Water with Lime Instead of Soda
Eliminates added sugars that contribute to heart disease and inflammation.

Dark Chocolate instead of Milk Chocolate
Dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids which help improve circulation.

Avocado instead of mayonnaise
Swaps processed oils for “good” fats that support overall heart function.
